    My daughter started reception three weeks ago. The transition from pre-school could not have gone better.

    She is eating all of her lunches, looks forward to P.E, and tells me all about the books they read. She hasn't had a

    “The kind and caring staff have always ensured both my girls are happy whilst at school. My eldest has thrived during her time at Highwood. She loves all aspects of the learning day, particularly the forest school element. It’s so nice to receive regular updates and pictures of the girls via the online system. The teachers go above and beyond and I feel lucky to be part of such a lovely little school. 

    "Highwood school has an amazing community feel, with both staff and other parents alike making you feel welcome from the outset.  All the team are fantastic and have taken the time to get to know the children individually so quickly. 

    My daughter has looked forward to going into school from day one. Getting to meet her teachers and having fun settling sessions over the summer really helped her know exactly what to expect. She has found it easy making friends with the other children, as there is such a nice inclusive atmosphere, with the older children looking out for the younger ones.

    As a parent, I have really appreciated the updates that have been shared about what they have been doing each day, which makes me feel really involved, and I have been so impressed with the great variety of activities so far.  It has really captured my daughter’s imagination and I can see she is very engaged with the learning but having great fun too." 

    We have found the integration into the school extremely welcoming. The school has a wonderful environment for children to start their learning journey. The school accommodates the needs of each child on an individual basis. This inclusivity, as the parent of a child with additional needs, has been incredibly supportive and welcoming. I can’t recommend the school and staff enough. The curriculum is balanced and thoughtful, enabling children to fulfil their potential in the most supportive environment for them.

    "I’ve been a parent at the school since 2012, without a doubt, I knew I wanted my 3rd child to attend, who is now in reception. To be greeted on the playground by a teacher who is happy and ready for their day not only gives the child confidence but us parents too. I can follow his day with a school app, the teachers are always communicating and my child is so full of day's experiences, that when he comes home the conversations about school last all evening."

He is so happy and excited to attend school every day.The staff have been amazing to both my son and I, so friendly and helpful, and it has made settling into school life so easy.Parent and pupils of the school are all so welcoming and friendly. Extremely happy my son attends this amazing little school."

    Just a massive thank you to everyone at Highwood for keeping the content engaging and being so approachable and understanding and making us feel part of the team, rather than isolated and “ left to it’” 

    I think Highwood have been very supportive to our children and parents in this awful time, I do feel it's hard doing remote learning for the children, but they are coping very well and the teacher do really help with there kindness and understanding.

    All the team at school are wonderful and so helpful. We are so grateful for your constant care and attention and consideration to the children's learning and to accommodating my work at the same time. Thank you.

    The past few months have been so difficult and hard on everyone but you have all worked so hard to support and care for the pupils and families at Highwood, you have gone above and beyond what any parent could have hoped for.
