14th September 2021
Dear Parents/ Carers,
As many of you will be aware we had a one day OFSTED inspection on the 10th June 2021.
We cannot thank you enough for your support during the inspection, following a period of incredible challenge both for the school and wider community.
You will see that Highwood Primary School continues to be classified as a good school,
according to the new OFSTED Framework and we would like to take this opportunity to thank all staff for their incredible hard work and dedication.
As a team we were very pleased that the report highlights the many strengths of the school
ranging from how happy and safe the children feel, to the curriculum meeting and challenging the needs of all pupils.
The key area for development for us focuses on Reading, in terms of early reading skills and developing a love of reading across all age groups. Prior to the pandemic, these were already key areas for improvement. As we move forward to what we hope will be a more stable year, we can now implement this plan fully and we look forward to OFSTED’s next visit.
